Renault Trucks debuts first right hand drive E-Tech T

Renault Trucks has announced the UK debut of its first right-hand drive E-Tech T at the Road Transport Expo 2024, taking place from 4th to 6th June at NAEC Stoneleigh. The fully electric E-Tech T is part of a lineup showcasing Renault Trucks’ commitment to decarbonising transport, including the latest E-Tech vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions ranging from 3.1 to 44 tonnes, alongside a range of HVO-compatible diesel vehicles.

The French manufacturer offers the widest all-electric range in Europe, covering virtually all urban and regional applications. Unveiled for the first time in the UK in right-hand drive, the new E-Tech T 4×2 will be prominently displayed at Stand B4. Designed to meet customers’ needs for productivity and performance, the 44-tonne E-Tech T is powered by two E-Tech motors and six 90 kWh battery packs, delivering 540 kWh of power. It offers a range of up to 300 km on a full charge and up to 500 km with an intermediate fast charge (250 kW) of an hour. The high-spec cab, designed for driver comfort, features a 4-point air suspension with ride-height control system, a heated Comfort driver’s seat, and an ultimate leather steering wheel.

Showcasing the practicality of electric vehicles for the construction sector, visitors to Stand B4 can also view a day-cabbed E-Tech C 6×2 rigid, with a 4,100mm wheelbase, operating at up to 26 tonnes. This model’s two E-Tech motors are powered by four 90 kWh battery packs delivering 360 kWh, with peak torque of 530 Nm. Power take-off is provided by the electric motor powered by the vehicle’s 600V electric network.

Completing the electric lineup on Stand B4 is a 3.1 tonne, L2H1 E-Tech Trafic Red Edition from Renault Trucks’ van range. This vehicle, ideal for SME trades and fleet businesses, is powered by a new 90 kW (120 bhp) electric motor, with 52 kWh batteries and a range of 297 km WLTP in the combined cycle. It boasts one of the best electric energy consumption figures on the market, at 18.7 kW/100 km, reducing the vehicle’s cost of ownership. Designed for usability, the E-Tech Trafic offers a generous 1046 kg payload, internal length of 2937 mm, internal width of 1662 mm (1268 mm at the arches), and internal height of 1387 mm.

Taking centre stage in Renault Trucks’ internal combustion engine lineup is a customised 13-litre T480 High 6×2 with a Turbo Compound engine, delivering up to 10% fuel savings and associated CO2 reduction. This model, striking in ‘Red Bright Orange’ paint, is designed to impress with colour-matched door mirror shells, windscreen bay with two handles, and two exterior vertical windscreen pillars, topped off with twin air horns. The cab interior prioritises aesthetics and driver comfort, featuring optional extras such as an ultimate leather steering wheel with red stitching, a heated and ventilated luxury driver’s seat, and leather and fabric upholstery. Power is delivered by a 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine, producing a maximum power of 360 kW from 1250 to 1600 rpm, and maximum torque of 2700 Nm from 900 to 1250 rpm, mated to an Optidriver AT 2812 gearbox with an automatic clutch.

Alongside the T High, Renault Trucks will showcase an 80-tonne Renault Trucks C520 6×4 tractor unit from its heavy haulage range. This model’s efficient 13-litre engine delivers a maximum power output of 390 kW between 1431 and 1700 rpm, with maximum torque of 2550 Nm from 990 to 1400 rpm, paired with the reinforced Optidriver XTREM Xtended ATo 2613 gearbox. Finished in grey metallic paint with colour-matched exterior parts, the sleeper cabbed C520 features full air suspension with a ride height control system and twin roof-mounted air horns. The cab interior matches the T High, with a luxury driver’s seat and ultimate leather steering wheel.

From the latest evolution of Renault Trucks’ distribution range, a D26 Wide 6×2 rigid, with an optional third steered rear fixed axle, joins the internal combustion engine vehicle display. The new design draws inspiration from the manufacturer’s van and heavy-duty ranges, and includes new safety equipment to enhance protection for drivers and road users.

Additionally, a vehicle from the Used Trucks by Renault Trucks range will be on Stand B4, while customer vehicles and other specialist vehicles will be displayed on stands around the Road Transport Expo event.

In the event’s Ride & Drive section, two Renault Trucks vehicles will be available for supervised demonstrator drives: a T480 High 6×2 Turbo Compound with a trailer, and a fully electric 18-tonne E-Tech D with a Solomon refrigerated body.

Renault Trucks’ knowledgeable team of experts will be on hand to offer comprehensive details and guidance on vehicles and transport solutions, including the decarbonisation journey. Furthermore, in Hall 2 on Wednesday, 5th June at 2.00 pm, Jack Millington, Energy Transition Manager for Renault Trucks, will participate in The Big Debate about the future of the industry.

Finally, football fans can test their goal-scoring skills in Renault Trucks’ exclusive ‘Put it in the Mixer’ competition for a chance to win a Samsung 65” TV, only on Stand B4!
