UK’s largest order for Volvo FH Aero units secured

Maritime Transport has placed an order for 150 new Volvo FH Aero 6×2 tractor units equipped with I-Save technology. The company has already received the first 20 units, which are now operational across its 41 depots. These new additions complement an existing fleet of 525 Volvo FH units with I-Save, all part of Maritime’s commitment to improving fuel efficiency as a key aspect of its environmental strategy.

Rosslare Europort Targets Health & Safety With Camera Telematics Partnership

A fleet of 20 terminal tractors has been fitted with an advanced multi-camera system to mitigate risk and improve safety at Rosslare Europort, the primary Irish port serving mainland Europe. Port operator, Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, has teamed up with Camera Telematics to develop and roll-out the camera solution as part of a major IT project to create an integrated smart port system.

The CCF warns that new border inspection rules will halt EU food exports to the UK

The Cold Chain Federation (CCF) has issued a caution that European Union food suppliers to the UK may cease exports next month without a revision of the upcoming checking and inspection mandates for incoming goods, as conveyed in a communication to Defra Secretary Steve Barclay. The Federation has voiced concerns that the impending border control model could disrupt the UK’s food supply chain and escalate food prices.
