Renault Trucks debuts first right hand drive E-Tech T at Road Transport Expo 2024

Renault Trucks has announced the UK debut of its first right-hand drive E-Tech T at the Road Transport Expo 2024, taking place from 4th to 6th June at NAEC Stoneleigh. The fully electric E-Tech T is part of a lineup showcasing Renault Trucks’ commitment to decarbonising transport, including the latest E-Tech vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions ranging from 3.1 to 44 tonnes, alongside a range of HVO-compatible diesel vehicles.

Scania is conducting trials of a solar-powered truck on public roadways

Based in Södertälje, Sweden, this initiative is a two-year collaborative research effort between Scania, Uppsala University, Eksjö Maskin & Truck, Midsummer, Ernsts Express, and Dalakraft. The groundbreaking project involves a 560hp plug-in hybrid truck coupled with an 18m trailer equipped with state-of-the-art lightweight tandem solar panels. Haulage company Ernsts Express AB will put the truck through its paces on public roads.

Clean Tyne Shipping Corridor Project to support net zero carbon fuels methanol, hydrogen, and ammonia

In the UK, the Port of Tyne, working with Connected Places Catapult and partners Arup, Lloyds Register, EDF R&D UK, Newcastle University and the North East LEP, has published the results of a feasibility study looking at the decarbonisation of the maritime industry through the creation of green shipping corridors, and the adoption of scalable zero-emission energy sources.
