Kent’s largest vehicle recycling business RECLAMET has been shortlisted by Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce for ‘Sustainability and Decarbonisation Business of the Year Award 2024’. This comes soon after being shortlisted for five National Vehicle Recycling Awards 2024 run by ATF Professional Magazine.
RECLAMET’s nomination by Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and the National Vehicle Recycling Awards demonstrate the business’s commitment to their local community in Kent, to the vehicle recycling industry nationally and to sustainable practices globally.
RECLAMET is a Kent finalist for ‘Sustainability and Decarbonisation’ alongside two other large businesses Walker Construction UK Ltd and Zircon AC Group Ltd.
All of RECLAMET’s nominations highlight the importance of the vehicle recycling industry to the sustainability of our planet. The sector plays a crucial role in helping to reduce waste and minimise the carbon footprint of vehicle production and disposal.
According to the British Vehicle Recyclers’ Association (VRA), the UK Trade Association for vehicle recyclers, in the UK alone the vehicle recycling sector contributes 3 billion kilograms of carbon emission savings per year. To put this into perspective, this is equivalent to the emissions saved from the manufacture of 240,000 brand new cars annually. Across the EU this equates to an enormous 7 billion kilograms of carbon savings.
By focusing on reusing and recycling, RECLAMET is supporting a sustainable future. As the 9th largest vehicle recycling business in the UK and a leading industry voice, RECLAMET believes that even more can be accomplished through collaboration and setting high industry standards for sustainability.
Staff from RECLAMET will be celebrating their achievements at the prestigious Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards ceremony and gala dinner at Westenhanger Castle, Hythe on the 21st November 2024. One week later, RECLAMET will be at the National Vehicle Recycling Awards 2024 at RAF Cosford, near Birmingham.
Stuart Mann, Owner and Managing Director at RECLAMET said: “We are enormously proud to be nominated for these awards. In four years RECLAMET has grown in so many ways, we have embraced sustainability wholeheartedly through investing in new skills for our people, supporting activities which encourage a thriving local community and reducing our day-to-day carbon impact through reusing and recycling.”
All six Award nominations have strengthened my ambition to keep pushing forward and provide a fantastic service which is also helping the planet.”
