WS Transport Acquires EV Cargo Logistics Division
WS Transport has announced the acquisition of EV Cargo’s managed transport and contract logistics business, marking a significant expansion for the company in the UK freight market. The deal brings additional road transport operations, warehousing facilities, and established customer contracts into WS Transport’s portfolio, strengthening its ability to provide integrated logistics solutions.
By combining EV Cargo’s capabilities with its existing services, WS Transport can now operate at greater scale and efficiency. The acquisition allows the company to manage more of the supply chain internally, reducing reliance on third-party subcontractors while offering customers a broader range of services, from freight delivery to storage and fulfilment.
Although the company has acquired EV Cargo’s logistics operations, the transaction does not involve a large purchase of electric vehicles, despite what the name might suggest. However, the move positions WS Transport to explore sustainability and fleet modernization initiatives in the future, as the logistics sector increasingly focuses on low-emission and efficient transport solutions.
The acquisition reflects WS Transport’s strategy to grow through strategic partnerships and targeted expansion, strengthening its market position and providing a platform for further development in the UK logistics sector. It demonstrates a focus on long-term growth, operational efficiency, and the ability to adapt to evolving customer and industry demands.
