Lorry and coach drivers have said they need more safe and secure places to park in Oxfordshire.
RHA staff heard from commercial vehicle drivers at a drop in event at the Redbridge Park and Ride in Oxford.
The event is one of a series of visits RHA staff are arranging across the country to speak to drivers about roadside facilities.
Rhys Williams, RHA Regional Operations Manager, said:
“It’s great to hear first-hand from drivers about realities out on the road. This helps us best understand what more needs to be done so they get the toilets, showers and food choices they deserve.
Key priorities
Increasing the number of lorry and coach parking spaces and improving the standard of facilities at truck stops and service stations are key priorities for the RHA.
The RHA has launched a petition calling on the Government to work with the industry towards better facilities, cut planning red tape, and increase funding – and urges everyone in the industry to sign it.
“We want as many truckers and coach drivers to get behind our campaign for better facilities,”
Rhys added.
