Logistics UK search for Transport Manager of the year
A new competition administered by Logistics UK has been launched to find the very best transport managers within the industry.
James Firth, Logistics UK’s Head of Road Freight Regulation Policy, comments:
“We are thrilled to be launching this brand-new event to provide transport managers with the opportunity to showcase their extensive knowledge and be recognised by other industry professionals. Successful transport managers possess a multitude of skills and a wealth of industry knowledge; as well as a complete understanding of compliance requirements, transport managers are responsible for ensuring operations are as efficient and sustainable as possible and must be proficient at vehicle maintenance and driver management. Following various challenges in recent years, this new competition is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the invaluable contribution transport managers make to industry.”
The competition will include knowledge on legislation and compliance and will online interviews as well as a case study submission. The overall winner will receive a £1000 holiday voucher.
To enter the competition, you must hold a valid certificate of professional competence or equivalent and be currently named as an internal transport manager on either a standard national or international licence. Applications will also be considered from transport managers employed by restricted licence holders. Unfortunately, consultant or external transport managers will not be considered.
